El barrio

Not far from the Rosicrucian grounds is a section of town with Mexican neighborhoods. Many of the shops and buildings have quaint architecture dating to another era. These include a donut shop, a furniture store, assorted Mexican eateries, a check-cashing place and an old liquor store redolent of cheap cigars. I've made several visits and have only touched the surface: the barrio teems with surprises. One of them is a corner grocery store. I've photographed it several times, but I still don't have the picture. I always look forward to that shot. Maybe I will get it right tomorrow.
